**Q: Work on White oak timbers, 100+ year old barn, 6" to 12" thick, some bark still attached, some insecte holes?**
A: Jerald,  Timbor would not be your best option for controlling a current problem. Especially for beams this wide. Timbor won't penetrate the substrate much and really its designed more for preventive applications; lumber treated before wood destroying organisms or decay fungi is identified can remain pest free when protected by Timbor. But once a current problem is discovered, you'll be better served using Boracare. Its designed to penetrate wood which is what you need. Boracare can soak in 3-4 inches from any side you treat so if you have full access, you can treat beams 6-8" wide. Now getting through a 12" beam will be a challenge and I'm not sure it can be done. But I'm confident 6" to 8" beams can be thoroughly protected. But to be sure, you may want to contact Nisus. I'm sure they'll provide a more definitive answer regarding the 12" beams; they may even have a work around or other suggestion for the large stuff.Cheers,JonathanCustomer CareU-Spray Bugspray

**Q: We used it to treat some hickory boards that we had planed for paneling.  After spraying both sides, we still see sawdust coming out.  Any ideas?**
A: How long has it been since you treated the boards? It may take a short while for the treatment to be effective if the boards are infested. If you installed the boards, it may be coming from behind them. I had a problem in my kitchen and soaked it in Tim-bor, later to discover the continuing sawdust was ants. Problem now solved.

**Q: does it kill termites**
A: Oh yes it does. here is how it works. Disodium Octaborate Tetrahydrate is one of a family of borate compounds (containing boron and oxygen), which are considered absolutely toxic to insects. Borate compounds like Disodium Octaborate Tetrahydrate utilize a stop-feed mode of action. Stop-feed means that the active ingredient DOT disrupts the enzyme and digestive systems of the insect, preventing future digestion and causing death by starvation. In treatment of wood decaying insects like termites or carpenter ants, DOT prevents these pests from being able to digest the wood that they depend on for survival.

**Q: Thinking of painting it on the logs interior.  Most reviews spoke about using a sprayer. Brushing it on in interior OK? In the process of removing the old clear coat on the logs and was told for any product to be successful the logs must be porous without paint or stain.  Before I re-stain, thought this might be a good…**
A: Yes, you need fresh wood to apply Tim-Bor, no stains, no paint, bare wood. Tim-Bor can be sprayed or painted on.  Be liberal, follow label directions as to concentration, 10% or 15% solution.  Without a moisture meter it's a judgement call.  For one application use the 15% concentration. Good luck.
