The Vita came in 1000(oled) and 2000(LCD/Slim) models. The PSP had three generations(if you don't count the "GO): 1000(no analog button just d-pad), 2000(first edition with analog stick/slider+video out+double RAM), and the 3000(updated screen, though some complain about screen). You can tell which edition PSP you have by reading the barcode on the bottom of the unit. If you are looking at a PSP in your hands it will have one or no analog sticks at all(Vita always had two).
