Hammock feature allows us to use floor area, behind front seat, for miscellaneous storage while traveling. Reasonable padding. It sort of levels off the whole back seat area for his comfort (we have bucket seats and a center section). Keeps snacks from dropping between rear seats. Very well made. Very handy. Have recommended it to several friends.
