Each can is 12 ounces of fully cooked and drained bacon. Between 4 and 4-1/4 pounds of raw bacon go into each can. Each can is the highest quality fresh #1 bacon slices. Cured to our specifications, cooked and then hand wrapped, rolled and packed in the U.S. We cook this bacon down for you prior to canning, so you won’t pay for all of the natural shrinkage that occurs whenever you cook bacon. Then we carefully drain all of the fat and liquid off and can it fresh so it will taste as good out of the can as it would right out of the refrigerator. 100% U.S. bacon!! I mean really who doesn't like Bacon??? You can add it to your Macaroni & Cheese or use it as a topping for your Au Gratin Potatoes. **Q: How can the shipping weight be only 9 lbs for a case of 12 when the description claims there is 2-3 lbs of bacon in each can. Anyone? Thank you!..**
A: Because the bacon is cooked before it is put in the can. The weight of the bacon is before cooking.

**Q: "Between 2-3/4 and 3-1/4 pounds of raw bacon go into each can." How can that be if they "cook this bacon down for you prior to canning"?**
A: They put the equivalent of 2 3/4- 3 1/4 lbs of UNCOOKED bacon in each can. If you've ever cooked bacon you know that most of the weight is water and fat which cooks out. If you took a pound of bacon and cooked it you'd have about 4 oz. left of usable meat. That's how they arrive at their figures.

**Q: I see in the picture that there is a P 38 next to the can. Is that included?**
A: Not as far as I know. BUT anybody who does NOT have a P38 already in hand is a fool.

**Q: How long is canned meats good once customer receives the cans**
A: YMMV, last year I ate SPAM from 1998 and it was still tasty.
