For a batch of this quantity, I used over 8 lbs. of saved chicken bones, a package of chicken feet, and two chicken carcasses that had some meat on them. I cut everything into smaller pieces to release more of the collagen from the bones. I used this cleaver to cut all of the bones and carcasses, and the job got done so much faster than using my husband's bolt cutter. Love this cleaver and I'm sure I will find many more uses for it.
