But a word of advice, don't buy this item. It's not at all useful. I got it to engrave my electronics but it didn't work at all. If you put any real pressure on it it either stops or rolls all over the place. It's not worth the low price. I'm going to get one that runs on electricity. I'm confident it will have the power I need. Good Luck! **Q: Will these tips be good for jewelry? I bought the micro engraver but it seems just to scratch the surface** A: Did you lubricate the bits? The biggest problem with most diamond tips, burs, bits and files is that they should Never be used dry. That would remove the diamond paritcles. Use a good quality beeswax or tool lube. This will keep your burs working well. To much pressure on an unlubricated bur can also burn out the motor on your tools. This works very well on most non-ferrous metals. The depth would depend on the hardness of the metal and the type of bit used. But the short answer is Yes, good for jewelry and even stone if properly used. **Q: Can you use with dremmel** A: Yes I use these with my dremmel. You just need a collet for them to fit. I believe it's an 1/8. **Q: can you do detail art work on dried ceramic projects?** A: Can't say for sure but I'd guess this would not have enough power to cut out grooves. This is more suited for surface marking.
