It means I am suitably covered with swimming costume underneath when I arrive and I take swimsuit off, pat myself dry and slip it back on when I leave. It is relatively warn and hangs down to my calves. It is room enough to change underneath should you wish and has a handy pocket at the front. It dries relatively quickly after washing and is nice and soft on the skin. My only issues are that it is very bulky so it has storage implications. If you want to change underneath, the slits up the side are short. If they were longer it would make it easier and the arms are long. It has no loop for hanging, you would need to add ones yourself.
