Review: Starts cloudy as expected but marvellous product perfect for tropical fish and shrimp - Great sand for my tropical tank,great for the tank and fish and easy to put in, water goes extremely cloudy when using ,its fine and does clear,obviously if you do it without fish,its more manageable. If you have fish in the tank already slowly pour a small amount and wait for it to clear by using carbon filter bags and a strong flowing water pump to clear ,cleaning the filter 2/3 times and leave the remaining cloudiness to clear. I use a pet drinking submissive pump to create a bit of a current so this is the pump you can use to clear excess debris, so that it doesn't damage your standard drip filter. I included images of the pump and the cloudiness of the fishbowl without anything in to show cloudiness after 1/2clears with the pump ,id say i had to do this 3/4 times on the bowl as its a small area and difficult not to disturb, pump must be vertical in a fish bowl when clearing this sand or it disturbs too much. But for a tank horizontal is right and should take less time to clear,i had no injuries and no deaths to fish when introduced, brilliant product.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: how long does the cloudiness stay in the tank when added water ?**
A: Add water without disturbing the sand ( let it run solely over your live rock) run powerheads to circulate the water and filter . My tank took just over a day too clear up and was crystal clear by day 3. 
I’ve had friends add sand after filling tank 1/2 way with water. 
Either way, disturb sand as little as possible and you have clear tank in a day or two .

**Q: Is this fine sand?**
A: I wouldn't say its very fine. There is much finer sand this definitely not the finest

**Q: Can this be added to an established tank I want to change to a fine sand bed**
A: Yes.... don’t rinse

**Q: Do you have to keep buying sand over time or is this a product that once established it remains?**
A: Don't know. 1st time user. Says on the package it never has to be replaced. It's a beautiful sand but has one conspicuous drawback: it's too fine. In my tank, where the currents are strong, the result is bare spots next to mounds. It won't stay put. I'd recommend something coarser.
