This is the board extension that completes the large side of the board that you get in the base game. **Q: I don't get it. What is the point of this?** A: As you start increasing the number of players, it can be difficult having all of the pieces crammed together in the smaller hexes. The original board is printed with a bigger version, but if you want to use it, you obviously need more board space, hence the board extension. It's a quality-of-life improvement more than providing any additional gameplay. **Q: Does the extension change anything about the layout, number of hexes, resources, or starting positions? Or does it simply increase the playable area?** A: It is just a larger print of the original map. Everything is the same.Imagine if the original is 100% view, the extension brings it to 150% view.
