## Description

These round wafers, also known as pappadums, consist of fragrant cumin and urad flour. They are rolled paper-thin, and dried out in the sun. In North India, papads are flame-roasted by placing it on a metal rack, a few inches above a burner. Once exposed to the heat, they will expand. Move the papad around quickly and evenly so it won't burn. Repeat to other side. In the South, they are deep fried in oil. Once in hot oil, they will expand and sizzle. Remove with tongs and place on paper towel to remove excess oil. Papads are served as an appetizer with coriander chutney, or served as an accompaniment to biryanis, pulaos and curries. A staple in every indian's home.

**Q: How do you cook the thousands of tiny pieces?**
A: They should come as round very thin wafers not thousands of tiny pieces. Some can break in transit but not all. You can put them in microwave for few seconds or fry them on one stove flame. You can also deep fry.

**Q: FRESH Papads are brittle– do they arrive whole or pulverized?**
A: First two orders arrived in a sturdy cardboard envelopes earlier in 2020, now my third order arrived in a bubble wrap envelope and they are totally smashed up.

Will not order again unless they return to the cardboard envelope.

**Q: what's the list of ingredients?**
A: From the label:  200 g,  Ingredients:  Udad-dal Flour, Jeera (Cumin), Salt, Sodium Bicarbonate, Asafoetida, Edible Veg. Oil
Company is in Mumbai, India

**Q: Pack of 20?  20 papadum total, or 20 packs?**
A: I ordered long ago, but I'm 99% sure it was 20 papadums because I'd never order 20 pkgs at once...best to confirm with the seller or others.
