I tried without the rear window guard first, but it looked like I was being cheap to only have it on the front. Finally, the clarity of the plastic has this "distressed plastic" look to it so it's a little cloudy. Note: My Weathertech brand rain guads had better clarity of plastic and they extended the front portion of the plastic down to the mirror and that helped with wind noise on the window (very well), but the Weathertech was more than double the price of these.
