Review: works great on 1999 John Deere Sabre 2048HV - A lot of starters show up in desertcart search, but I had to look carefully to ensure this was the right one. It is a genuine Briggs & Stratton part, and it had the correct 15-tooth gear (see picture of original motor). The other motors had different gear tooth counts etc. I installed this one & it has been working great so far. BTW- the "trick" for me that worked best for getting the old motor off (and the new one on) was to use a wobble extension to get a socket on the right bolt head (you can get a cheap wobble extension at Harbor Freight).

I decided to purchase this after having one of the $50 black aftermarket ones failed in a month due to a burned up brush mounting plate. This starter on day one spins the engine faster than the aftermarket one did on day one. No regrets spending the extra money. Its definately an OEM part that came in an OEM box
