Review: Great set - I love this set. It has everything I needed for the brine. I do want to give a bit more detail So you put the round one on top and then the longer one and put your mix through both. The top one(round) catches the shells, while the cone shaped one catches the brine. I notice that some need more time so I put the stuff from the first sieve back to hopefully get more. If you do it at the right time, 24 hours after starting your batch, it works flawlessly in separating the eggs from the hatchling. If you wait too long, then the hatchlings are too big to go through the first one. At that point, what I do is I stop the air pump, and let it rest. The shells usually rise and the hatchlings swim closer to the bottom so I use a turkey baster to collect them. I still use the longer sieve to since before feeding them to my fry.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does the chlorination in the tap water cause harm to the shrimp? I don't want them to die?**
A: Yes. Dechlorinate water before use. It's supposed to kill everything in it. So we can drink it. Shower in it . And so on . I don't know if shrimp eggs can survive incubation in chlorine for a day while it dissipates. But I wouldn't risk it. You could run a side by side test and share your findings. $ from YouTube video ?

**Q: Does it work for bbs that are 2 days old which is 48hrs?**
A: I have used it on 36hr old shrimp. Probably not the best to go 2 days before harvesting.

**Q: Is this design for china brine shrimpt or us brine shrimp ?**
A: Artemia Salinas Aka brine shrimp should be the same world wide. I've never heard of any sub species or selective breeding. Thanks.

**Q: Would this work for daphnia separation after they hatch?**
A: We are sorry that we have not done any separation experiments for daphnia. But if they are bigger than baby brine shrimp, then theoretically they won't work.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Get used to the fold that traps some BBS
*by S***O on March 2, 2026*

I really only use the finer mesh, I wish there was a spare for that instead of the bigger one. The fold in the net makes it a little tricky to get all of the brine shrimp out, but you’ll get used to it. I’ve been using it for about a year, make sure to keep it dry to avoid moldy spots. Easy to use, fairly easy to clean and overall doesn’t leak BBS.
