Please share** A: I didn’t realize there were different length. I’m 5.2 and bought the 30-61 and it works fine. You can make it shorter because there are three pieces that screw together. I sometimes just use the base. It’s the best tool. **Q: can it work on grass? I have little clumps of grass where grass shouldn't be amongst the weeds.** A: If you have bluegrass or any other plant which sends out rhyzomes (underground stems) each piece could grow back. Farmers here call them "devil's shoestrings." I am clearing grass out of my garden, and I find it easiest to soak the ground. I reach to the crown (where root meets stem) and pull S L O W L Y. Sometimes I get several inches of the rhyzome. DO NOT COMPOST rhyzomes or seed heads because home compost usually isn't hot enough to kill the pest. I usually start where the grass is starting to flower, so at least those seeds are NOT going to add to my problem. For large areas, cut down as low as possible. Cover with corrugated cardboard and wet thoroughly. Then add 1/2" of soil or compost. Now you have the first layer of your garden "lazagnia", water it well. Keep going for at least 4 layers of cardboard. Top the whole with more soil, or crushed leaves or grass clippings. Using a trowel, you can plant in it directly, though I like to wait. It is important to keep the lazagnia moist, especially at the edges.
