This bullet journal paper is 120GSM So the paper is 20% thicker but the regular never ghosted with ink for me **Q: Does it lay flat when opened?** A: Yes. Just give it a little bend like you are cracking the spine a bit and it will lay flat. That little bend does not affect the outward appearance of the journal. I don't think you will regret buying it. It's so nice and has a nice, quality feel to it. **Q: Is there a pocket in the back?** A: Yes, there is a guide pack with a sticker set in the pocket that can be taken out! **Q: Do you have to start in January?** A: As the Bullet Journal is free from dates you can start at any point of the year, not just January.
