## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can i sanitize my f&p cpap mask and hose components. daily cleaning is requesting some time i cannot afford.**
A: Yes, I sanitize masks, books, ipad etc in this instrument.  The room is quite spacious and I have as a microbiologist taken surface smears to see if it really works and it DOES!   Highly recommend this instrument for multiple purposes.  It also has several different settings.

**Q: How many uv bulbs does this product use??**
A: There are two uv bulbs.

**Q: Can this be used to sterilize N95 face masks?**
A: UV light CAN break down the material used to create SOME n95 masks. Check the mask manufacturer box. If it says do not store in sunlight, then I would NOT recommend using this to clean them.   I know the n95 masks by 3M I use warn against it.

**Q: Can it be used to sanitize fruit or vegetables? And how to clean the interior of the unit itself?**
A: Do a search for "uv disinfection of vegetables" and you'll see that this is a complicated question. The food processing industry uses UV-C at this wavelength (253.7 nm) as part of a more elaborate controlled process involving water washing and ozone, so it's not clear to me how effective it is when used by consumers in a device like this. Bacteria can hide in tiny cavities on the surface, etc, for example. So it probably works to some extent but not 100% and not a substitute for washing if I had to guess.

As for cleaning, the manual says don't use alcohol or solvents, just "use a dry cloth" to wipe the unit out.
