2-Pack Muck Block set Macro-Zyme Time Release Muck Block Macro-Zyme Time Release Muck Block is perfect for applications and locations that you just can’t get to every 2 weeks for reapplication. Each Muck Block is packed with high counts of bacteria CFU’s, which will gradually release into the water system to aggressively attack and decompose muck and organic matter. When placed in areas of water current or in feeder streams, the water movement will carry the muck-busting bacteria throughout the pond, making applications and treatments a breeze. Each 6 lbs. block is formulated to slowly release bacteria dosages that will treat up to 2 acre feet of water. It is much more effective when used with water movement, as the current will help dissolve the block and carry the bacteria throughout the pond. The CFU count is as good or better than other bacteria products, which allows it to pack a strong punch in a small package. Each Macro-Zyme Time Release Muck Block is sold individually in a water tight bag, packaged in a user-friendly box. Reapplication is only needed every 30 days, when water temps are above 55 F

Review: These are a little pricey yet add such quality to your pond . Our pond is 7 years old . We have 2 aerators and one fountain. We buy 2 of these and put one each by each aerator . Blues gills are doing great and pond is very clear and clean .
Review: Works well, but it's pretty expensive. Our pond is small, and even at twice the recommended dosage, we didn't use it all in one shot. By the time we put in the second dose, the block had broken down to a powder and was much more difficult to get to the places in the pond where we needed it. I'm not sure if this affected it's effectiveness, but we did switch to another slightly cheaper "pellet" brand for easier distribution. If you've never used this type of stuff before, be aware that this is a bacteria, so there is an odor to it.

**Q: How long it takes to see a result?**
A: Time for results to appear varies with each and every pond.  Results are best when the application instructions are closely followed and when the pond has an aerator or water fountain running in it to assist with maintaining good pond health. **Q: Have an acre  pond how offen do you put these in how long do they last?**
A: I think varies a lot. Our pond stays on the cool side and the pellet slow disappeared over a 3 to 4 month period. Have seen a huge difference in muck. This will be my third year using them.

I have treated my 100 x 300 ft. pond for over 20 years. The science of a pond changes with age. I've treated my pond with several muck removers including products from The Pond Guy, Lake Restoration, etc. I've used pellets & packets and algae control totaling over $2k annually. I stared using this muck block and placed a block @ each of my diffusers. (I also raised my diffusers by 12" by tying them to plastic milk crates for best aeration) I added and additional block in the center of my pond every 2 weeks acting like a shocker as you would a pool. MY POND LOOKS MAGNIFICENT.! In some areas of my pond I had muck/sludge up to 12+ inches. NOW IT'S GONE! With the loss of muck, the algae has diminished by 90%. I can't wait to see what my maintenance will look like next year. I used to hire teenagers to rake muck & algae 4x a year and never could get on top of the growth. In addition to the muck block, I occasionally needed to add some cutrine granular and occasional spray cutrine. Now it's about a cutrine application every 30 days (minor application) instead of a major investment weekly. I CAN'T RECOMMED THIS PRODUCT ENOUGH! Also, we have fish and a beach for swimming. SAFE FOR ALL.
