**Q: Do the 'other ingredients' now list magnesium stearate?  There is no magnesium stearate listed in the photo.**
A: Could someone please explain what is junky about the magnesium salt of a natural occurring fatty acid?  Do you refuse to eat chocolate because its fats are at least 25% stearic acid?
What would you prefer they use as a flow control agent?   Cadmium oleate?

**Q: Does this contain magnesium stearate?  I this made and sourced in the US?**
A: Just purchased on 1/26/17 and yes now contains Stearic acid. Very upsetting cause before ingredients were: veggie capsule, rice flour and Leucine. I will not be buying anymore Lifeextension products. The whole point in taking a supplement is to get healthier not ingest more poisonous fillers. Im very upset about this change in ingredients.

**Q: Is this r-lipoic acid or is it r-alpha lipoic acid?**
A: Alpha-lipoic acid supplements typically consist of an "R" and "S" form in a 50/50 ratio.  The "S" form is not very active in the body and the "R" form is the highly active form that is responsible for the antioxidant effect. **Q: Is this r-lipoic acid or is it r-alpha lipoic acid?**
A: It doesn't say on the bottle, but I have assumed it was r-alpha lipoic acid.  I checked to see what the difference was between the two (online) and it says that alpha lipoic acid exists in two forms S-alpha and R-alpha lipoic acid.  The S form is not natural, but the R form is.  That is all I know.

I have taken this for a few years now. This is the best form of alpha lipoic acid. If it doesn't have the R, it's synthetic and it's junk. This bottle lasts me two months usually. I take one every morning on an empty stomach with water, about 15 minutes before I have coffee. I initially started taking this for fibromyalgia-like pains in my arms and shoulders. This supplement, along with strengthening my back, has eliminated my pain. I believe this supplement is very effective for nerve and muscle pain. I've read a book about lipoic acid and the benefits are massive. It's an anti oxidant that's natural and as you age, your body makes less of it. This is a supplement that actually works. I have my husband taking it now too. Pills aren't too big and are easy to swallow with water. Container is easy to open. I think the company, life extension, makes quality supplements.
