So you hear the sound through your sound system and enjoy the image on your video projector, monitor or TV. A standard HDMI input is enough. The sound system must have an HDMI eARC port. eARC audio formats You can set the maximum audio format via the EDID switch. In position 7.1, higher audio formats are supported, such as Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby MAT (each with Dolby Atmos) and DTS-HD with DTS:X, LPCM 5.1/7.1. It's also tiny, the images had me thinking it would be much bigger than it is. Running it from a usb 3 socket to dc instead of the adaptor that came with it just for a bit more convenience. Only thing as others have mentioned is the led's are very bright, so you may want to pop some led cover stickers or similar on to tame the intensity. Review: Compatibility Issues - We purchased this to solve a lipsync issue between our ARC TV and eARC soundbar. It’s a well made product and the customer support was excellent but in the end we had to return it. It actually solved the lipsync problem well but there were some compatibility issues with it in the system. HDR content would drop out visually and sonically at intervals and the tv would often revert back to internal speaker output causing havoc with the soundbar volume. Feintech advised that our Sky satellite box has known unconventional HDR and ARC protocols and this was likely upsetting the VAX. We have no reason to doubt this, from the open and helpful support from Feintech. Also note this is actually a small (but weighty) box and the writing on the front is small.
