## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can I roast coffee beans in it**
A: The ideal popper for roasting coffee, it seems, is higher wattage and circular vents. It seems to be difficult to find both features in any current model. This model has higher wattage but blows straight upward through a central vent. Despite that, many people report that it works fairly well as a roaster. Myself, I have a 1200 watt model with circular vents. I have had fantastic results with it. Don't listen to people who say you can't get good results unless you have 1350 watts or more - it's not true. I never roast darker than full city. If you like a really dark roast with oils coming to the surface then a lower wattage model might struggle with that and this model might be better for you. For most everyone else I would really recommend a circular popper for better results.

**Q: Is it BPA free**
A: I'm not sure about the plastic chute, but the inside of the container is metal. This is where the heating occurs and popcorn is placed. I'm assuming that the only area that is plastic and may contain BPA is the plastic top, but the popcorn only touches it for a brief second as it descends the chute into your bowl. I'm sure there is very little exposure to BPA if the plastic even contains it. Since I only use it for roasting coffee beans and the beans roast inside the metal interior I don't concern myself very much about the BPA in the plastic if any.For further information you can Email Presto at www.GoPresto.com or call them at 1-800-877-0441 weekdays 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Central Time).

**Q: Is this made in China or USA**
A: Currently, there are six for sale on Ebay which were made in the USA, including the same model I use (still) to make great popcorn, which I bought in 1996; made in Eau Claire, WI by Presto Industries. Ah...the good ol' days, when we kept manufacturing here, before NAFTA and "China, Most Favored Nation Status" took hold. Ugh.

**Q: I am limited for counter space.  How tall is this machine and approximately what is the diameter of the base?**
A: With the cover on, it is 14" high. The diameter is 6.5".  It you take the cover off and store it in a cabinet, the height is 9.5".
