Is this a second gen?** A: Mine has the magnet and stick bend also. My Bluetooth range is somewhere around 50 ft or so through normal wood walls. Works great. **Q: will it stay easily in side an air vent?** A: It comes with a magnetic collar. I find it stays nicely on all types of tin just put the tip through a 1/4" hole in the duct (easily plugged or covered when your done) and let the collar do it's job. I got two so I can do real time we and dry bulb delta T. It also has a magnet in the Handel.
