My favorite flavor, until now, has been the pomogranite gumdrop because it had a tiny bit of a pink/red tint to it, unlike the traditional clear chapsticks (unfortunately it is no longer available). These new tinted lip balms are in the same familiar chapstick tube and the same applicator which you twist the bottom to raise and lower the product. As someone that can't wear full-on lipstick on a daily basis because it just looks like too much, these offer the perfect amount of color! When I opened the tube, I was kind of shocked at how dark the product looked. It is actually much more color than I was expecting, but it does not look too overwhelming once on. The coral blush is an amazing bright peachy orange-pink color with some glossy shine to it. I did not try the pink as pinks never look flattering on me, but from the tube it looks to be a light cotton-candy pink. I would say these offer about half the pigment of lipstick and twice the shine. They are perfect for daily wear and can be applied without a mirror. They do leave little peach (coral) or brown (merlot) lip prints on your cups or napkins, but it wipes off much easier than lipstick. At less than $5 a tube, they are a decent deal. All the shades are lovely. The red ones looked amazing on me. Very pale olive skin tone, super dark hair, black eyebrows, and brown eyes. I look best with a darker lip because otherwise the entire bottom half of my face just kinda disappears. So for me it's about balance. My lips do have a darker natural tone as well, kinda really dark mauve/purple-y shade so pale colors either disappear, look chalky, or change color. For instance, berry shades tend to go fuchsia and much brighter than I anticipated. Deep wine shades go berry. Bright reds go really pink, but muted, dark reds are perfect. They look natural, with just a little oomph. Hope this helps you at least rule out shades. Nothing worse than wasting money. And, fyi, Ulta sells these, and will take returns within a certain frame for any reason. Even if you just don't like it. So you can try a shade at a time.
