This grip takes a notable amount of "felt recoil" out of the firearm when shooting the 454 cartridge. Review: Functionally Better than OEM GP100 Match Champion - I have the GP100 Match Champion which comes with a beautiful Hogue wood grip. That grip didn’t match well and actually dug into my index finger because of a gap between the gun’s trigger guard and grip. There is No gap between trigger guard and this grip. Fits perfectly into my hand. I can tell that I will have much better control and accuracy because my grip feels so much more secure than the wooden OEM. Looks sharp too. Installation was easier than it’s made out to be in the instructions. I have a 4" GP100 with black Hogue monogrips that are already pretty decent.** A: The monogrip that comes with the GP100 has a more narrow profile and is therefore a little smaller. The tamer grip comes with some kind of closed cell foam on the backstrap that does reduce recoil. If you shoot or plan to shoot a lot of full powder 357 mag loads it's a good investment. I would guess about a 25-30% reduction in felt recoil. **Q: will this grip fit the ruger redhawk ?** A: No. It fits my Ruger Super Alaskan Redhawk great, and while it doesn't look as nice as the factory wood inly grips mine came with, it is way more comfortable and a very positive grip.Edit. I previously erroneously stated that it would fit the Ruger Redhawk. But it looks like it doesn't.
