However, the skill and muscle memory associated with using a Western push saw lends itself naturally to succeeding off the bat with this pull saw. This 5-inch Ryoba made short work of my sheesham wood study table. The quality of the cut was astonishing. In fact, I managed to saw off the legs of the hard wood table within minutes. But most surprisingly, the precision and consistency of the cuts allowed the table to sit true without the need for any shimming. I'll be buying the Dozuki saw as well to transition completely to Japanese pull saws.

This was my first time using a Japanese pull saw. However, the skill and muscle memory associated with using a Western push saw lends itself naturally to succeeding off the bat with this pull saw. This 5-inch Ryoba made short work of my sheesham wood study table. The quality of the cut was astonishing. In fact, I managed to saw off the legs of the hard wood table within minutes. But most surprisingly, the precision and consistency of the cuts allowed the table to sit true without the need for any shimming. I'll be buying the Dozuki saw as well to transition completely to Japanese pull saws.
