Review: Makes yummy treats - I really enjoy using my Yonanas it is very easy and yes it's a little loud to use but it the job done. I like using this machine better then a blender because it's so much easier to clean and I get all of the fruit out into my bowl. Review: Makes delicious, healthy ice cream! - This machine does what it says. Don't listen to the negative reviews. First off, I love ice cream! I can't get enough of it, but I have to watch what I eat and try to stay away from refined sugars. I have always eaten frozen chunks of fruit from the store as a snack and dessert and saw this as a great way to turn those chunks into my favorite food. Right out of the box Yonanas is easy to set up. You get the base unit and then 5 pieces that go together very easily. If you are familiar with juicers, you will be in your element. Here are my thoughts on assembly, use, and cleaning: Assembly - As I said, very easy to put together and take apart. It is pretty self explanatory, but there are also instructions. Just make sure to put the clear gasket on the right way or it won't work. When putting the chute onto the base unit, turn it until it "clicks" into place. It just takes a couple tries to get used to it, but it is not difficult as other reviewers have stated unless maybe you are a small child. Use - When you turn the machine on, yes it makes noise. It's a spinning blade that's puréeing frozen fruit. It is nowhere close to being as loud as others have grossly overstated. It only takes a few minutes to make your dessert, so even if you cannot handle the sound, it will be over soon. I use slightly over ripe bananas, that I peel BEFORE freezing, cut into halves and let sit out on the counter for about 10 minutes. I cut them into halves before freezing because they fit better in the chute using the plunger and I get a good mix of banana and other ingredients. One half banana, some of my other ingredients, repeat. I don't mind the texture from fruits with seeds such as strawberries, but some may. It's all personal preference. You are putting frozen fruit into the machine so it will take some slight pressure to move it through, but it's definitely not hard. Yes it is true that some of the product will collect in the machine and the only way to get it out is to take it apart. It even says that in the instructions. It's pretty simple though. I really enjoy using my Yonanas it is very easy and yes it's a little loud to use but it the job done. I like using this machine better then a blender because it's so much easier to clean and I get all of the fruit out into my bowl. The fruit comes out perfectly as a soft serve and I am excited to try the recipes.

This machine does what it says. Don't listen to the negative reviews. First off, I love ice cream! I can't get enough of it, but I have to watch what I eat and try to stay away from refined sugars. I have always eaten frozen chunks of fruit from the store as a snack and dessert and saw this as a great way to turn those chunks into my favorite food. Right out of the box Yonanas is easy to set up. You get the base unit and then 5 pieces that go together very easily. If you are familiar with juicers, you will be in your element. Here are my thoughts on assembly, use, and cleaning: Assembly - As I said, very easy to put together and take apart. It is pretty self explanatory, but there are also instructions. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It's not bad, for the price

First, I don't like bananas in my frozen treats or any other desert-like item (I know, I know). I haven't used any recipes or gone beyond the simple frozen fruit with an almost sorbet feel (but way more frozen). I bought this item because I wanted to replace the need for calorie-filled ice cream with various unknown ingredients and get a fruity frozen treat (less fattening) without half a bucket of sugar. This meets that bill. It is much better with fresh fruit than already frozen fruit. The booklet recommends a specific time for thawing, but you're better off using trial and error on this one (I usually test-bite a piece, and if it's too frozen to bite through, it's too frozen. If I can bite but still feel the icy cold inside, it's good). So far, I've tried strawberries (not bad, but not great), cherries (the skin makes it a bit on the odd side), blackberries (horrible idea, unless you like the seeds), raspberries (seeds are a bit less offensive than the blackberries), and I even tried a mix of strawberry and kiwi (which didn't work out because the kiwi gave it an odd mouth feel). The flavor winner, for me, is blueberries. You don't have to chop anything (wash them and watch for stems), and scooping a bunch of blueberries into the chute is much easier. The blueberry's winning quality has to be how creamy it comes out. It almost resembles a sorbet. I've put pints of it in our freezer for later use, and so long as I let it thaw a bit (not too long), it's soft enough to spoon through and enjoy. And the skin is much softer than a cherry's, in my opinion. As for the cleaning, it's not hard to take apart, but I'd still recommend care (if you're a klutz like me) when turning the base to separate it from the top part since the blade is between them. They're easy enough to remove, though. I prefer to do it over the sink to dump the parts in water. Hot water is your friend in this situation. I haven't tried putting it in the dishwasher yet, but that's a preference more than anything else, and I still find it easy to clean without the dishwasher.
