## Description

Product Description Geberit 111.335.00.5 DuoFix In-Wall System with Sigma Concealed Tank for 2x6 Wall Construction From the Manufacturer The Geberit concealed installation system - also known as an in-wall carrier - allows you to design and create the bathroom of your dreams. In-wall carrier systems allow designers to create eye-catching new bathrooms from the bare minimum without expensive structural work. The frame system can be used in the tightest of spaces including corners, allowing designers the freedom to create stunning bathrooms without compromise. Because the carrier includes an integral water tank located behind the wall, the resultant aesthetic is a clean and modern finish with no visible pipe work. Only the attractive decorative actuator plate attached to wall remains visible.

Review: Very well made...I wish I had put these in the other bathrooms. - So my architect wanted me to use these in all three bathrooms. I said no to wall hung toilets...too much of a pain. Well as it turned out a floor framing mistake I made forced me into this wall hung, and now I wish I had done them for all of the toilets. Not really intuitive to install...you must be able to read and follow very detailed instructions....But if you can do that they really aren't hard to install. The finish product looks great and the flush mechanism works beautifully. I have this carrier paired with a Toto bowl and the setup is perfect...
Review: Excellent quality, easy install - The biggest advantage of this type of toilet/tank installation is the saving of space, and that made a nice difference in our small inner bathroom. Our experienced plumber has installed many wall-hung toilets but had never used a Geberit wall tank before. He thought this tank was the "Bugatti" of wall tanks - he really liked the construction and the mechanics. We had an outside wall 2x8 cavity to work with, so there was plenty of space to insulate behind the tank and frame as well as in front of it (frontal insulation not shown in the attached picture). We doubled up the 2x8 studs on the sides to stiffen the install and we couldn't get the frame to deflect an iota. The plumbing was very easy for the plumber to connect. The only caution I can share is that when you are finishing the wall surface, the threaded rods for hanging the toilet extend out from the face of the wall quite a bit and it's easy to catch your leg, arm or head if you aren't careful. Maybe stick a tennis ball on those or have some band-aids ready to go.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I am concedrned about the tank sweating inside the wall and getting mold in there and not being able to see it or a leak. How does that work?**
A: Hi Douglas: I gutted a small, 1300 square foot bungalow house in Georgia that I own across the street from Dobbins ARB/Lockheed, and I am installing a total of three of these Geberits concealed toilet tanks. First of all, the concealed tank part of the wall-hanging toilet is sturdy, extremely well built, the water holding tank is a thick, molded, polyethulene tank, not glass or ceramin, it is tall & relatively thin, and it is further insullated outside of the tank with polystyrene. It does not look like it would be condusive to buolding up sweat, tho I suppose if you lived in a part of country where water supply very, very cold, and you have warm, humid ambient air leaking into the sealed wall where concealed tank installed (possibly from around floor holes where cold water line comes into the tank, or where 3" PVC sewer/drainage line exits. The depth of the tank unit makes it too big to fit concealed inside of 2x4 framed walls, but would in 2x6 framed walls. All of my units are or will be installed well withing the interior/inner walls in the house, not anywhere along and of the exterior/perimeter walls, hence, no substantial temp/himidity differencial. I built out framing from the 2x4 walls just around the concealed tank, so somethging like a rectangular, approximately 24"x44" box is structurally soundly & securely mounted to wall & floor to easily support the weigh of even the most robust person (extire weight of person has to be supported from wall-attach toilet, it does not touch the floor, as you know). That extended from the 2x4 wall would seem to be required in most applications, I'm guessing, because of location load bearing walls AND their structural support framing below, since both water & sewer lines enter the concealed Geberit in a small area of its approx 4x18" footprint which cannot enter or leave through support beams. Moreover, because I am using 3/8" tile in each application, the concealed tank frameout I covered with 1/2" sheathing, using quality deck screws sold at Home Depot, covered by 1/2" concrete Backer Board cemented to the sheathing with PL Premium either 3X, or 8x Polyurethane construction adhesive, and backer board screws, onto which I installed tile with gray 32 thinset. I am so impressed with Geberit's quality & materialk of construction, added to the care I took to conceal in a way that would make it so extremely unlikely that a hot/humid temp differential would affect the concealed tank compartment. I did use pink fiberglass in the 2x4 wall that my 2x6 Geberit concealment wall was built ouyt from, mostly so toilet noise from bathrooms would never be hear in any adjoining rooms, not because I had temp. insullating concerns; there is no addition room to ack any insullation in the concealed tank compartment, it's snug like what you'd imagine on a Space Shuttle. My best recommendation is to put your worries to rest as to condensation in walls that in turn wmight develop black mold. I know my answer is a bit long, & I hope it helped & that you were able to easily follow what I was trying to pass on to you. I LOVE my units, mostly because I wnted to go wholely away from floor mount toilets that are almost always installed in tight/cornered locations & the "crud" that inevitably builds up aound its base over the years (unless you have great cleaning staff). rob quill

**Q: How do you change the flapper valve which you know will eventually wear out? Do you have to cut the wall open?**
A: All of the components are in a cartridge that can be changed through the wallplate. So you don't have to cut the wall open.

**Q: Any differences between the 2x4 and 2x6 versions of this carrier, apart from the obvious size and price?**
A: The 2" x 4" model is engineered to fit into the tighter wall cavity and is more costly, and and most difficult to manufacturer. So this creates the price difference. http://www.amazon.com/Geberit-111-798-00-1-Concealed-Carrier-Dual-Flush/dp/B01C7FL4PK?ie=UTF8&keywords=Geberit%20111.798.00.1&m=AOXSRG6WMYPTS&qid=1463695496&ref_=sr_1_1&s=merchant-items&sr=1-1

**Q: What model toilet would this carrier fit? can i buy any wall mounted toilet and it should be fine?**
A: Hi there. I have 4 of these concealed carriers in my house. two of those have a Toto Toilet CT418F that cost me $ 167 dollars and I have used also the Kohler model 6299. All of them work fine with no problems. My only issue is that in non of them holds as much water as the conventional ones. But the "clean" all around, specially in the floor, is definitely the best plus anyone can have.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Better value than the other concealed carriers, works great several months after install
*by P***N on August 3, 2015*

I was doing a bathroom remodel for a small powder room and started looking at wall-hung toilets because I wanted as much free floor space as possible. I was trying to figure out the difference between all the toilet tanks systems --Toto, Geberit, Duravit Kohler etc. I'd seen this specific tank recommended by Amazon with the Toto toilet I was looking at, and at first I was worried about compatibility issues. In the end, it looks to be cross-compatible with many of the systems I looked at. The main thing you need to figure out is whether your framing uses 2x6 or 2x4 and pick the right tank frame. Go to the Geberit web site and see their list of compatible toilets to be sure. 2x6 wall studs: Geberit 111.335.00.5 Concealed Toilet Carrier Frame with UP320 Dual-Flush Tank 2x4 wall studs: Geberit 111.728.00.1 Concealed Toilet Carrier Frame with UP720 Dual-Flush Tank A lot of people worry about having a toilet tank system in the wall. Given that most of the parts are injection molded, the chances of leaking in these tank systems is low. The parts that you need to access are concealed behind the flush plates, meaning you can access it at any time. This toilet tank does not come with extra parts you need / may want. 1) The actual flushing plate. I guess that's to let you pick what style / colour you want. They are quite pricey! 2) The acoustic insulation bowl connection set (Geberit 156.050.00.1 Acoustic Insulation Bowl Connection Sets and Accessories). For the fact that it's just some sound-deadening foam, I thought it should have just come with the toilet wall carrier. Since I was in a hurry to install and I didn't have this kit, I just made-do by cutting some packing foam sheets and stuffing that behind the toilet for acoustic insulation. So far it seems to work fine, isn't noisy 3) Connecting pipes, etc. I highly recommend watching the Youtube installation videos. They were a great help. If you are looking at these types of toilets you know that they are expensive systems, but within that price range this brand seems to be the best value of the bunch.
