Putting anything on your windshield is considered “obstructed windshield”, and in some states, is a justified reason for a traffic stop. I put it on my extended cab windows. Little extra work, little additional wiring, but it looks great and works awesome behind the factory tint. It gets two levels of protection from the sun and it is out of sight from thieves. I will put them on my rear minivan window and the Prius front little window. But I don’t think the Prius will work as the power lock system goes dead once it’s locked. As for the bad reviews, even the engineer, unless you know how to run and hook up electronics, don’t do it yourself. Instructions are very good. If you hook it up wrong, it will not work. For the lights. You can turn off the cylon leds, the instructions are in the manual; you need to know what you are doing.
