## Questions & Answers

**Q: Wouldn't this product allow air to enter the system when pushing it in w/ refrigerant? Vacuuming seems like it wouldn't b/c air would be vacuumed out.**
A: If you install this oil injector in-line with the low side hose on your gauge set/manifold, you can pull vacuum on the hoses (remove air & moisture). Then, close off your valve to vacuum. Next, open up valve to your refrigerant tank, and charge the hoses with refrigerant. Finally, open the valve on the oil injector to allow the refrigerant from your gauge set/manifold to push the oil into the vehicle's A/C low side port. I do use a CPS MV5H3D 5-valve manifold (hi & low side hoses, refrigerant hose, vacuum hose, vacrometer all on one manifold) to limit the amount of things I have to assemble to do this (i.e., it's already set up, just connect hoses).

**Q: If you continue to run the pump, wouldn’t that pull the oil right back out?**
A: I'm not sure what you're asking, but this device allows you to add the proper type and quantity of oil to you HVAC system. That oil doesn't just sit there in the compressor, it disperses throughout the refrigerant, thereby lubricating the system.

Honestly, my only concern with adding oil by this method is that it might dump too much oil too fast into the compressor and hydrolock the compressor. Hasn't ever happened, and I've used this thing dozens of times now on different units.

Just make sure you're using the right oil and the right quantity. Since you can never be sure how much/type oil is in a system you're topping off, I vacuum pump the system down and then add the oil. Too much oil is as bad as too little.

My actual steps are; recover/remove the old 134A....fix the leak......pump down the system...add I can 134A....add oil....add 134A until the gauges read correctly for the ambient air temperature.

BTW; you will know you fixed the leak when the pump holds vacuum for 30 minutes (turned off).

**Q: Can this be used as a nu calgon flush kit?**
A: Dimitri, we're an auto repair shop and we sometimes use this for injection of oil/dye to the Auto A/C System through the low side port. Other times we use the automatic A/C equipment. It's just a small metal container of very good quality with the proper connecting fittings at each end. I'm not sure what exactly is the nu calgon flush kit but we use a larger container which holds more ounces for flushing Automotive A/C system.

**Q: does this injector have 1/4" flare fittings or does it have 1/2" acne fittings?**
A: The connector with the turning knob valve is 1/2" (which is outlet)the other end connector is 1/4",which is inlet from manifold gauges.
