The way the steel on the blade was folded is almost mesmerizing. I know that may sound weird, but that's how my grandson described it and I agree. The blade is very sharp, which I expected from Damascus steel. The beautiful rosewood handle is positioned for great balance and felt great in my hand. It comes with a leather case that it fits in perfectly and securely. I am so happy I found this knife for my grandson in time for Christmas. The only thing missing is a sharpening steel specifically for Damascus steel so I'm off to look for one.

A: Ulu is a traditional Alaskan knife design.  This well made knife is probably not from Alaska.  The steel is made elsewhere and may be shaped and handle added elsewhere.  It is a nice looking knife, sharpe and easy to use.  I like it.

Beautifully made! It isn't very sharp, but I suspect that it is more decorative than not. It feels great in the hand and is very well made. It's a great gift for the knife collector in your family.
