I used two perms, (my acid perms normally need about 40+ minutes to process. Even though my hair is dry and a bit porous, it has always been resistant.) I followed these specific recommendations and processed for only 20 minutes and I got exactly what I wanted. The photos I will show are on the second day, slept on, no products, and the hair cuticle still open a bit. A nice conditioner and cold rinse will close those and it will be more sleek and less frizzy. (Embrace the process, be patient, do not wet or weigh down your new curls too quickly.) If you want a nice lift from the root make sure to use small sections, go against the natural direction of your hair, and roll all of the way to the scalp. If your hair has been previously exposed to color, chemicals or perm, make sure you use WELLA preperm treatment on the ends.
