As long as the reverse switch is in the down position, it will push air down and keep you super cool! In the winter we will put the switch in the up position to circulate air if needed but it’s in our outdoor gazebo so we will see. It’s 31 degrees right now and the fan was definitely keeping me cool. Some more positives to note: it’s very quiet, it was quick and easy to install and it’s a great size. I love the wide blades. I also appreciate that the blades are made from plastic, which will make for super easy cleaning since it’s outside. I was going to get a 3/4” one. Does anyone have one they prefer? I see some say they had issues.** A: If is a standard down rod no the thickness doesn't matter I have 24 in on and works great don't forget to slide the switch to downward position as the fan is reversible **Q: will it work in 240v ?, in UK** A: No **Q: What light kit works with this?** A: They offer this fan with the light kit. I bought the one without the light kit and went through months to get it to work. I finally was able to get the light kit through Honeywell but then it did not have a pull chain so then I had to wire in a remote one. It was a real pain. **Q: I have purchased several universal downrods for this fan and I am not having any luck. Has anyone found a down rod that is compatible with this fan?** A: I replaced an old fan and had the same problem with the holes of the existing 32-inch down rod not matching the new fan housing.
