Review: Good quality, a little pricey. - Hard, but I mix some larch gum in with it when I want something softer to chew. It's good quality. The pieces aren't uniform but it doesn't bother me. Doesn't splinter like some brands. Quality is good. If you've never chewed it before you should know it is not sweet, but has a mild pine taste that not everyone loves. Gives your jaw a workout and leaves your teeth cleaner. Also can be used for culinary purposes when ground. If I can't get the stuff from the bulk spice company I order it from much cheaper, this is my second choice.

I got this shipped to me about two and a half weeks or three weeks after ordering it. It smells kind of like some kind of roots that would be used in chinese medicine and tastes like it came from some kind of tree, which it did. 100 grams will almost fill (3/4) an 8oz mason jar. The texture is very gummy you can chew a normal size piece for about 6 hours until it disintegrates. Also some pieces are harder than other and also harder to chew. I chewed two large pieces of mastic for about 9 hours the first day i got it and i could feel my jaw was quite sore. Its somewhat addicting to chew so now after chewing it for three days straight it really hurts to chew food, but i may chew more again today. It also seems to have some effects on the digestive system as i had diharrhea the day i chewed two pretty large pieces until they disintegrated and then i swallowed them. The taste is pretty nice actually and the texture is very gummy, it's almost indistiguisgable from a gum you would buy at the store except its on the harder side. Overall, 5 stars! very nice and a very pleasurable experience to chew it. Im looking forward to seeing what else this gum can be used for as well!!!! Update: After chewing this stuff for two months I've used about half and I have also burned some as incense, which I would only recommend if you like the taste of this gum as it smells pretty much the same when burned. I have noticed that my jaw has gotten quite a bit stronger as I can chew through one normal size piece (about 1-2 sticks of standard gum) in about 4-7 hours without my jaw getting very tired. Also, I've noticed when shaving that it is harder to get around the edge of my jawline than before and when I clench my teeth I can also see the muscles in my face are more defined and protrude more. I think over all my face has gotten more of a square look to it but i actually think it's an improvement.

**Q: Is this gum vegan?**
A: Mastic gum is not made from cow tears, it comes from the resin of a mastic tree. That said, I have no idea if this product contains any other animal products.

**Q: After using it as a chewing gum, can you reuse the same piece for weeks/forever? Is this considered unsanitary/unsafe as it may harbour germs after?**
A: You absolutely can reuse the gum. Originally I picked out a medium size drop which was decent to chew. The taste is very strong but after a few times chewing it, it will become fairly neutral. Eventually I added more to that same wad and store it in a small container with mouthwash after each use.

**Q: is this product organic?**
A: What I know that it is a natural product not processed. It is sorted for sizes. As for what kind of firtliz they use?  I can't say. Sorry.

**Q: I was told these could be broken up and put into water or tea to drink... how do I do this as they are chewy?**
A: If you put them in water they will get hard.

### ⭐ Completely LIQUIFIED in 1 minute of chewing, had to see dentist

I rarely write reviews, but dear god this was a horrible gum. I thought it was supposed to be harder than regular gum to make chewing it more challenging, but within seconds of chewing it totally liquified into this thin sticky paste (shown in first photo- sorry for gross visual) that stuck to my teeth and got in between them. I could deal with the sap taste if it at least was hard to chew but mine was significantly softer than any other gum I've tried before. I ended up spending 2 hours trying to get the paste residue off my teeth and totally ruined my toothbrush (all bristles got stuck together). Ultimately I scheduled a dental cleaning and my dental hygenist told me never to chew this gum again. As I said, I never write reviews but this product not only failed to do what it claimed, but also hugely inconvenienced me and cost me money to undo the use of. I would strongly caution anyone against purchasing this gum.
