For those first-time mothers who weren't told about the need for such a 'pad' after she delivers her baby. let me enlighten you ... they are necessary! Maternity pads are larger than menstrual pads, which is appreciated post-partum (not only for their absorbency but for their comfortable coverage of the perineum, post-episiotomy. Women in our lives often forget to share this type of info with first-time mothers, which leaves us unprepared after we deliver our babies (at an inconvenient time) ... luckily, we have Amazon Prime in today's world! In the past, we sent our husbands to the drug store (post-partum, after we learned that we needed such a pad), only for our men to return home embarrassed and with the incorrect product ... Aaacck!!
