I started using this hair mask in the Chestnut color and like it very much but it had a bit too much of a reddish tint so I purchased the black hair mask to mix with the Chestnut color to tone down the red tint. I tried it today and It toned the red down a bit but I guess the next time I'll mix in more black. I really like the hair mask, it's very quick and it blends in my gray. It's only temporary, but I don't mind using it every week since it's so quick and easy to apply. I recently had a perm and now that my hair is more porous from the perm the hair mask color is absorbed very quickly and comes out a little darker (which is fine with me). The color is more of a light auburn shade at first, but with frequent use, a deeper color is achieved. I have dark brown hair, and the colored grays blend in nicely.
