Great but too expensive
This ball is the best size for a teddy bear hamster. The five, and 7 inch balls are way too small and curve the hamster’s back, which is not good at all for them. The ball is great, but you cannot drop it as it can crack. I seriously do not understand why the 10” size is so expensive compared to the 7 inch one. The plastic is nice, clear, and completely see-through. Ventilation is also good. So I am happy with the use and the size of the ball but not happy at all with the price. I bought this one brand new as I had a very bad experience buying a “used, like new” for $18. When we receive that one previously, it was all scratched, had a few cracks in it, one of the plastic latches was broken, and we had complementary poop in it. And they had called that When we receive that one previously, it was all scratched, had a few cracks in it, one of the plastic latches was broken, and we had complementary poop in it. And they had called that “like new”. So again, I decided to go for the brand new and I like everything about it except for the price but that’s the only one of that size out there.

Incredibly durrable, functions as well as I would want it to.
1st the ten inch ball was much bigger than I expected it to be. This is one big ball. Its very strong and super well built and already fully assembled. It has a door that opens on each of its two ends. The doors rotate a little bit to unlock. It has good finger grips for getting a hold of the door with for rotating. Its easy to get into for cleaning. My large hands fit in it very easily even while holding a rat.I believe this ball can be rolled down stone steps and not break. This is some great quality for the low purchase price. My only complaint is my animals were super slow learning what to do with this.My cats and Black Lab could not get in to harass or eat the rat. They all wanted in as they love eating the local squirrels when they are lucky enough to catch one. The cats just sniff at the ball when the rat is inside. But our dog will roll it all over the house giving the rat a free ride whether she wants it or not.It took the rat 15 hours of being in the ball and on the floor with the hunters before the rat finally realized she was safe and the big animals couldn't get to her. Then she quit playing dead and invisible and finally said F... you big animals, and finally began walking the ball around the kitchen. Now two weeks later, the rat is roaming around the house and can even cross our thick carpet. Its not nearly as exciting to watch as I had hoped for. I think I should have bought a BB gun instead. But rats bleed and I'm too lazy to clean up the mess. This ball is a nice clean politically correct toy.If you want a ball, and if you want a large big ball, then you will not be disappointed with this one.

Perfect for Syrian hamster
The media could not be loaded. This ball is comically huge, but it’s absolutely perfect for a larger Syrian hamster. He runs all over the place and seems much more comfortable in the larger ball. Don’t let the size and weight discourage you

broken and missing lid
The media could not be loaded. **UPDATE** I contacted the seller. They were very helpful and solved the issue with a full refund. **This product came broken and missing a lid. I am very disappointed. I read the reviews and people loved it it was so good for their animals. So, to get it in this shape was very upsetting.

Our teddy bear hamster Speedy test drives this giant ball. Check out my video!
The media could not be loaded. This ball is HUGE! I got it for something new for my big fluffy Teddy Bear Hamster "Speedy" to test out. She is used to a smaller 7" ball but it cracked and I got this one for kicks. Check out my video of Speedy's inaugural run in the ball. It's really cute.:)It's now been a few days and she has the hang of it now and rolls around on our wood floors. We give her about 10 minutes a day in this giant ball and she now crawls into it when I hold it up to her cage. She loves to get out and "see the world." Her older ball broke so we got a replacement ball. Oh, and I had to use some tape on her old ball to keep the dang doors on! She was used to that smaller size, so this big ball was some adjustment for her.I hope this ball holds up well! It seems to be made of the same cheap plastic they're all made of. I'm sure with time, it will crack like the other one. I can update the review if so. I have not been putting tape on the lid yet to keep it closed, so that is a plus. If she starts to get out because of the door popping off, I'll make note! So far, so good with the giant ball.:)I paid full price for this ball. Prices are the same online as stores it seems. I spend A LOT of money on Amazon buying hamster food, bedding and treats. She's worth it! Plus, it saves me a trip to the pet store! Thanks internet shopping addiction. LOL

Returning this time for a Refund
Update: Replacement came fast. Again, it's Pink, and the door doesn't stay securely latched. Sad to ask for a refund, but 2 returns are my limit. 8" Ball is too small, 13" is too big. 10" is perfect and very hard to find.First, like several others, ordered Clear got Pink. But the most frustrating thing it came broken. Looked like someone returned it then they sent it to me. Box was tapped, ball was cracked, and the door latch tab was sitting in the bottom of the ball. The shipping box showed no damage. This had to have been damaged before it went into the box. I'm waiting for a Replacement and really hoping they send a Clear, Unbroken Ball. 10" is the only size that fits my Teddy Bear Hamster. For thoes who are not aware, they are the largest of all hamster breeds and grow pretty fast. I love my hammie

Nice!
Great ball for Sirian hamster. Very nice size and weight. Holes are not too big so little hamster feet do not get stuck in them. Very impressed and like that it is clear rather than colored platic. Thanks alot for making a really nice sized and well made ball for Sirian hamsters. This ball I would assume may be too big for robo's. I don't agree with other negative reviews regarding that this is not good for hamsters. I believe that if it is the right size and you properly monitor them when they are using it for signs of distress and limit the time in the ball to very short periods like 5 min. that this is a very good item for a hamster to have as it relieves the hamster from cage boredom and allows them to explore the home safely. My hamster loves it and I know this because the min. I show the ball to him in it's cage it runs inside the ball immediately and when I try to return him to his cage which is a very large cage the Kaytee super cage which is like 580 square inches of space it doesn't want to go back and it's difficult to encourage him to return to the cage. Therefore; I believe it depends on your hamster as they also do all have different personalities. My hamster loves it. I had a smaller ball and I didn't like it as sometimes they may run into furniture etc.... and the fact that this is bigger absorbs the impact better and therefore is much safer for them in my opinion. Anyway highly recommend if you have a hamster that doesn't want to constantly be kept in it's cage as not all hamsters do like social human interaction.

My Syrian loves it, 2 openings not good as hamster escaped
I like this it's heavy duty and very roomy for Syrian hamster. If i could change anything it would be to make plastic lightero see through for hsmster OR due to thick heavier construction plastic when a Hamster hits wall or object one of the very loose openings well, it opens! It would make more sense and better view of the hamsters while in the ball to just have one opening. It doesn't click shut so with movement the opening cap that just turns once to close nothing is clicked on place to prevey it from sliding one turn( all it takes) to open after a few bumps against objects walls. One opening loosens more than the other so i put clear take over it several times in case it loosens again. It would be more functional and smoother surface to walk on for the hammy with one opening. I would of exchange it for the save company they all my dwarf and my regular 7" sized ball for the Syrian before she grew, but they didn't have that size and i was not expecting it to be thst much bigger going from 7" to 10" but it looks DOUBBLE size anything bigger would fit a cat maybe a dog even lolKaytee did have 13" and their plastic is the thinner ( it's more visibility for Hamster) with one opening which i prefer but they have the original one i got sign she was smaller 7" and it goes to 13"But no 10" only Lee critters had 10"

Great ball, even for small animals
This is a great ball for Syrian hamsters. I find that 7" balls, which are commonly used with Syrians, are too small. They tend to cause their backs to arch inwards, which is bad for them. A bigger ball like this one doesn't cause this issue at all. This ball is quite well-made. Some balls use thin plastic, which is especially an issue for the doors: over time the closing latches wear out and break, causing the doors to fall off mid-run. This one has fairly thick plastic throughout, and the door latches seem sturdy. Also, there are 2 doors, so when one wears out you could just tape it shut permanently and only use the other. The inside of this ball is also designed well. Some balls have sharp protruding structural ridges on the inside, which can be hard on your animal's feet. With this ball the insides are quite smooth, making for a more comfortable run and less chances of injury. The only issue with a ball of this size for a smaller animal like a Syrian hamster is that it's relatively heavy, so it's a bit harder for them to move around in. Due to the weight of the ball, it has lots of inertia, so it takes longer for it start moving than a smaller ball would. This can make it a little harder/confusing for your animal to use it, but I found that my Syrian hamster got used it pretty quickly.Overall, I definitely recommend it.
