The instructions are easy to follow with step-by-step pictures of how to prepare the wrap, place the baby in the wrap and even the safest way to take the baby out of the wrap. I've always been hesitant of long fabric baby wraps in the past but this one takes away my fear of complication! I only had to follow the instructions twice before learning how to setup the wrap on my own. The fabric is very soft and easy to maneuver into position while on. It has just the right amount of stretch to easily place the baby in with providing the correct amount of support. Overall very comfortable with the weight being distributed well. Our baby is just now 8lbs at 1 month old so we wouldn't be able to use most carriers that have a minimum weight requirement. This wrap is a great alternative allowing for a smaller baby that can't hold their head up yet. There's also additional instructions for babies who can hold their heads up but we're not there yet. Before using this wrap I would end up holding our little one over my shoulder around the house to help him fall asleep for his naps. Now that we have a wrap to use I can be much more productive with two arms available.
