The app controls everything, there aren't any switches on the unit its self. **Q: Will this work on Fisker Ocean?** A: If it has a J1772 connector it should work. **Q: does it work for tesla model Y?** A: You would need an adapter. The Tesla has a specific plug style. **Q: UL inspected and certified?** A: The energy monitor is UL listed. The EV charger is not at this time but I've read that they are in the process of obtaining certification. The EV charger is very solidly built. There are lots of options for this type of equipment. My decision was based on multiple factors, including design, specifications, features, reviews and cost as well as many others. But what made my decision clear in the end was the amazing customer support offered by Emporia. I had multiple questions on the candidate EV Chargers and Energy Monitors and reached out to my top candidates for answers. Emporia answered all my questions immediately and comprehensively. The knowledge depth and excellence of the support help is in a league of its own. I had follow-up questions about installation and App set-up in which the customer support experience has been outstanding every time. This has made installing and using the products easy and provides a great level of confidence. Regarding the products themselves, I have been extremely happy with their quality, design, features and performance and can see why they have the best reviews. The Vue 3 energy monitor has been especially great, enabling me to clearly see where all my electricity has been going and helping me reduce cost by addressing multiple areas that were consuming power without benefit. An especially useful feature is that the Vue 3 monitor enables me to see my solar generation as well as loads and plan my usage, including EV charging, to optimize. The Emporia smart phone App is incredibly powerful, but very intuitive and easy to use. The software engineers at Emporia are obviously top notch.
