Much cheaper than an appliance repair visit. It took me 10 mins to remove the old timer and replace with this new one and I only needed a screwdriver. Itʻs a very easy install, just remove the silver back panel, and access is simple. Our dryer was not turning off, and the timer was not advancing. Maytag Dryer MGDC215EW2. One thing I learned from this repair was that even though the dryer turns off when you open the door, it is not actually off until you advance the timer to one of the "OFF" positions, and if not the timer is still active. I think this caused more wear on the timer over time, since we rarely advanced it to the "OFF" position. Just to be sure you have the right part, I would recommend pulling off the top back panel and looking at your existing timer and copying the black letters across the back to ensure they match with what you order.
