A: No the outside of the bowl will not be hot.   The outside of the bowl is not cold either with cold foods. These work very well and are so nice!

Purchased this recently, and it's not what the reviews say. It doesnt keep the food hot/cold for hours, in fact hot food cools down to rom temp in about an hour itself, so now going to return. I would recommend to buy something more insulated and with more layers of materials.
