Or does the kid push it?** A: In the box it includes a motor box, if you add batteries & assembled per instructions it will move on its own. Don't put it in water. **Q: Are the batteries and motor supposed to get really hot when using for short periods of time? We took out the batteries but they were too hot to touch.** A: Thank you for your question. The only time we've ever experienced this is when the end-user accidentally inserts the batteries in the wrong polarity, causing a short circuit.
