He loves to chew, but I don't let him sit and chew these balls. These are for fetching and playing catch. If he sat and chewed on it, he would probably pop it fairly quickly. I wouldn't advise that these be given to a puppy for a chew toy. The last one we had for a couple of months before his tooth knocked the squeaker loose. The ball is still in tact and he still likes it for catch and fetch. We've had it 6 months.
