If something flips up and damages your trailer, fuel mileage is the last thing you’re going to worry about. **Q: I have a 2 1/2" ball mount, how much room is needed on the top and sides?** A: I'm not sure I completely understand the question, BUT, I have a 2" receiver hitch and ball mount on my F250. There is PLENTY of room for the system. **Q: can anyone tell me the ideal size gap to have between the road and bottom of the mud flap? Mine are dragging & I’m not sure how much to take off?** A: I’d say 3-4 inches on level ground with trailer hooked up. Maybe take one inch off at a time. Mine is about 4” from ground with trailer hooked up. Might be a bit too high. 3” would be ideal for mine but I took too much off. **Q: can I get a 2 1/2 center hub only. The 2" center hub is item # RT034. The 2.5" center hub is item # RT057 and we now have a 3" hub item # RT059. The pinch bolts come as separate items - you'll need 2 qty. of RT052. A 2.5" center hub will not work on a 2" application because Rock Tamers mounts to your hitch (aka. drawbar, stinger, etc.) and you need to use the same size hub as your hitch.
