Have been using no more than 1x weekly to prevent damage plus deep conditioning with a purple mask between uses to prevent damage and brassyness. Your hair needs to be entirely virgin to get a perm and that doesn't take a year if your hair is more than 12 inches and you're in your early 20s you probably shouldn't try to perm your hair til your 30s because your hair can't have any color chemicals in it.
