Kokum is chalky and odorless. It isn't as soft as shea but not as hard as cocoa. I make and sell organic body butter and use kokum as one of the butters in my recipe. Mine arrived in plastic both times so I assume they no longer use the plastic tubs. If you want to try it in your recipe I recommend that you mix more of the other butter (shea, cocoa, or whatever you may use), OR use a carrier oil due to its chalky texture (which is no reflection of Plant Guru that's just its texture).
