The large was perfect when her foot was first injured and very swollen. As the swelling subsided she was able to use the medium. She wears a size 8 shoe. The Dr she treated with said the these una boots were a good quality and said that they were less expensive than the ones that he would have sold her. She was glad to have these or she would not have been able to go to a store to get one. Great purchase. Review: Short term use only - Had to have my big toenail removed and needed open toe. Was able strap so it didn't rub toe but with no arch my gait was off with normal shoe on other foot. Reused on other foot when I had that nail done. Cracked all the way across at ball of foot and had to glue in material to keep the crack from pinching my foot. Discarded after final use. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I have a love volume foot and am able to tighten the straps ... *by H***R on 26 October 2014* I wear a women's 9.5 and bought the W's Large size. It fit, with about 1/2 inch of room to spare at the end. Note that this has a rounded toe (which may offer a bit less protection than the squared toe that some similar shoes offer). I have a love volume foot and am able to tighten the straps (the soft inner flaps overlap a little) just fine - I even trimmed the end off because they were too long. The box I received showed a shoe with a white sole, the but I was glad to find that the shoe inside was black. I received a Darco Post-Op shoe after surgery on my big toe joint - after being miserable in it for two weeks, I bought this one. I found the heel on this one to be much more comfortable when sitting with my foot elevated. The strap placement is also different - the Darco seems to offer a bit more structure/support, as there is an ankle strap (I found it uncomfortable so was glad this one didn't have it). I prefer this one for sleeping/sitting with my foot elevated, and the other one for when I am up and about.
