Seems more than fast enough, took 60 seconds to move 100gb of data over to it and loads up GTA at least twice as fast and the internal SSD would! Also the PS5 reads the usable storage as exactly 1TB so bang on. Time will tell if it lasts without slowing down but it’s been about a week so far and zero complaints. A; Basically, yes. Carefully peel the sticker from the M.2 SSD and reapply it directly to the outside rear of the heat-sink's "U" shaped base plate, being careful to ensure it adheres correctly. Why? ; The heat-sink is supplied with 2 thermal transfer pads, one for sticking to the inside of the "U" shaped base. and the other to the heat-sink's radiator block. These must have the best possible contact with the SSD and to achieve this it is necessary to remove the manufacturers identification sticker. You should check that the thermal pad and the SSD fit correctly before assembly as you may need to trim the pad slightly to avoid blocking the screw hole. Once the fitting of the thermal pads has been checked, remove the protective cover from one side of one pad and attach to the inside bottom of the base, repeat for pad 2 and fit to the bottom (non fin side) of the radiator. When fitting the SSD, first do a dry fit without removing the 2nd protective cover from the thermal pads to confirm fitting and clearance for the screw. When you are happy with the fit remove the protective cover from the pads and the manufacturers sticker, if you haven't already done so, and fit the 3 parts (base, SSD and radiator) together. (Having made this mistake myself MAKE SURE ALL 3 PARTS ARE CORRECTLY ALIGNED. I hurried too much once and put the SSD in with the screw hole at the wrong end) Press the 3 parts together gently and insert and secure the 6 screws (both middle first, then one end then the other). Insert SSD and heat-sink on you motherboard and secure carefully (just enough pressure to make the SSD contact with the mounting is all that is required) with the screw. If 2tb dimensions are the same as 1TB version it should work fine. The current BETA system software is not great atm in my opinion! **Q: Do you take any stock heatsink off befor fitting this one?** A: You may need to trim the heat sink down to fit, depending on the ssd size. Well, at average temps of 47 degrees celcius and max operating temps of 52 degrees celcius (regardles of ambient temps) in comparison to potential ran away temps at 80 degrees plus... it's pretty cool lol but this also depend on the type of case and fans your running, my set up is the Corsair iCUE 4000X RGB with which im running 4 Corsair iCUE LL120 RGB LED PWM plus 2 in the liquid cooling for my CPU Corsair iCUE H100i ELITE CAPELLIX Liquid CPU Cooler allowing for max air flow. These are well made and very lightweight, they are durable and really easy to install, once your drive is in and you have applied the thermal pads and locked the parts in place with the screws provided your all good to go.
