I had no idea that the size of our previous press was apparently immense compared to most that are out there, as I tried 2 others prior to this one and the tool’s well was barely big enough for a tiny garlic clove, much less the 2-3 cloves I was used to being able to press. Beyond that, the other presses rusted in the dishwasher. I decided to step up my game and spend a little more in order to get this press. So far I’m happy I did. It is very easy to use, as the mechanism allows little strength to easily press any garlic clove. Although it still isn’t as big as my previous press, you can at least fit a very large or a couple of smaller cloves into the press, and then easily mince them with little effort. The quality of the finish and mechanism is excellent. It’s built like a tank and is comfortable to use. I have tried pressing cloves without peeling them first, which I’ve tried a couple of times and it works (sadly, I usually forget until I’ve already peeled them!). Cleaning it is fairly easy, as long as you rinse off the press right after you use it (pretty much the same as any other), and then I throw it in the dishwasher and there have been zero negative results of doing this.
