Review: A honest review from someone who owns two dyson, Robotic and bissell shampooer ( - update: I did try to run cruiser first and then use Dyson. Dyson picks up a little more in term of dirty ( not much). But when I pour baking soda first and start vacuuming baking soda, Dyson is a winner. Dyson picks up a lot more baking soda than cruiser. With Cruise, I vacuuming at least once a day and always pick up a full bin. It is so convenient to carry it up and down to vacuum the entry way. I really enjoy the clean carpet daily now. Like other review indicates, the material looks cheap. I hope the unit will last long time. I have my old Dyson for over 10 years now and it still works very well. I hope this one at least last longer than Robotics. ======================================================================================================= I don't usually leave product reviews unless I am very happy with the purchase. My condo is only 1300 sq but I own 5 vacuums. Two of them are Dyson. One is old animal DC25 and one is hand held cordless. I also have bissell shampooer, robotics 7 and now hoover cordless cruise. I bought cruise cordless because robotics is broken after 1.5 years in service. We have three cats and a dog. Robotics was running on the daily basis and still picked up a full bin every day until it runs over my dog poos one day and it stop. Robotics customer service was offering me a deep discount for the same unit but I decided not to go with it. I am just tired of looking for robotics almost every day to see where it stuck and pull hairs out of it every other day. It was nice to have a robotics that running on the daily basis but once a month, I also need to replace some parts to get it working perfectly. Our home has entry way and then stairs right after the entry way. Once we come up the stairs, everything is on the same floor. Robotics works perfectly on the second floor. With a dog, it's hard to keep dirty out of the entry way and stairs when we have to walk our dog at least three times a day. That's why we need something lighter and easy to use. I was researching between the hoover cruiser and the latest Dyson cordless few months ago. After reading many reviews between Dyson 8 and the hoover cruise cordless, I was leaning to Dyson but don't feel like spending $400 for another vacuum. So I purchased a dyson cordless hand held from desertcart. The unit is very lousy but it works well on the entry way and stairs. It only comes with two attachments but my old dyson attachments also fit on this hand held. The hand held is easy to pick up small stuff around pets' food area and it also work in our cars ( thought it doesn't work perfectly) but I have to be on my knees all the time when I use it. Last week, Hoover Cordless was sales on desertcart. it was less than 100 with taxes ( CA). I need something that is easy to use since my robotics is gone now. So I ordered it and figured that I can always return it if I am not happy with it. I was very skeptical when I received the unit. It only took me 5 minutes to put everything together. The material of this vacuum looks cheap but it is also very light to carry around the house. The instruction indicates 6 hours charge before the first usage. I charged it for two hours and then I started testing it. The vacuum was very weak after two hours charges and I was ready to put it back to the box and send it back to desertcart but I decided to charge it over night. After over night charge, it only last for about 5 to 7 minutes which is shorter than my hand held dyson. I put it back to charge for another hour while I was walking my dog. It works a lot better this time. Hoover cruise is not that loud and you would think that it doesn't clean as well as Dyson until you take a closer look at how much dirty it picks up. It is very easy to use. It only took me 5 minutes to vacuum the entire 1300 sq home and I take this vacuum to the entry way easily. This vacuum actually picks up more hairs between the carpet and baseboard than Dyson. I vacuumed once this morning and one more time when I got home tonight. It picks up quit a bite both times and my carpet is very clean tonight. I have been thinking to use my hoover to run the entire home once and then use my Dyson animal to run it again to see how much Dyson will pick up. I will update my review once I complete the experiment. What I like about Hoover: (1) The Hoover has a lever that can be pushed to hold the on button in the on position. I read from one review that it doesn't bother them that much about holding down the on button all the time. For me, I can't stand it. This is definitely a big plus for Hoover. My finger is always hurt when I have to hold down the on button all the time. (2) Maneuverability: It works well on both carpet and tile floor. At beginning, I thought the Hoover cruise swivels unexpectedly -- it doesn't always go where you want it to go but it works very well to pick up things between carpet and base board. It picks up dirty easily than the hand held Dyson and my old Dyson animal. One of the reasons I bought Robotic is that none of my vacuum can reach underneath of my bed and one of my cats spends most of her life down there. It has a lot of hairs. Hoover actually can reach underneath of our bed. (3) Noise: Both my Dyson hand held unit and old Dyson are very loud even with hand held. My dog always runs away when I turn on Dyson. She seems ok with Hoover cruise. Because Hoover is not that lousy, I thought the suction is that as powerful as Dyson until I check dust bin. (4) Dirty bin: Dyson is easier to dump the dirt out of the bin but the dirty bin of my hand held doesn't seal very tight and you have to push it in. There were few times that Dyson bin just opens itself and all dirt came out of the bin. The additional filter inside of Hoover bin makes it harder to dump dirt out of the bin but I don't have any problem of dirty bin seal with Hoover. What I like about Dyson (1) Appearance: Dyson's products always have the best look and best design but it also comes with the price tag. I have my old Dyson for years and it is very solid built. Hoover cruise cordless seems relatively cheap look comparing to Dyson. (2) Battery life and charge: Dyson battery lasts longer and charges quicker than hoover. I don't charge my hand held a lot. Once It is charged, it lasts for a while even you don't use it. On the other hand, Hoover seems losing the power even the unit has not been used. Battery is or will be the core technology of the Dyson since they are building ecar. I expect more of their new technology from their battery.
Review: CAUTION: HARDWOOD FLOORS, Crumby Customer Support - Edit: Jan 8, 2017. After 6 months the rotating head stopped working on the floor attachment. I took the bar out and seems the spinning / gearing device mating with the spinner bar will not turn freely. Contacted customer support at Hoover through Chat and they said the only recourse was to take the unit to a Hoover service center, which turned out to be 100 miles away. I asked if there was an alternative way to get this repaired and they simply said there was not. If you live near a service center, perhaps the service is great but I can't justify making one or two 200 mile round trips to get a $100 vacuum repaired. Original Review: I will keep this brief as there are lots of reviews that appear to be pretty accurate and wanted to alert persons to potential issues on hardwoods. The pros: Suction and cleaning is pretty impressive for a cordless and is pretty light and maneuverable and so far no issues with failing parts. Cons: Unfortunately we will hardly use this as it leaves small micro-scratches on hardwoods. Yes we turn off the beater bar when on hardwoods and still get very thin scratches. I think the tiny wheels on the unit are the culprit but do not know for sure but now that we can not use it on our hardwoods this pretty much is nothing more than a very expensive handheld vacuum.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Save your back, bux, and have clean floors and walls.
*by A***O on January 16, 2018*

So I have a Dyson because of it's reputation- it's better, but this Hoover is exactly the same thing down to the connections. The floor scrubber on the Dyson is better, but the Hoover can wiggle sideways to get narrow corners. Suction power is just as awesome. The battery can slide out, but there is no external charger...yet. There are more attachments included. I have used it for only 10 minutes at work, but it is just as fast and awesome as the Dyson. The Dyson is not worth 4x the price of this... mostly because the Hoover Cruise is a very close copy of the Dyson. Even the emptying of the canister is the same. The trigger switch does lock, but is confusing. The only drawback is that the scrubbing head feels cheap (slightly wiggly and floppy), but when I went back to the Dyson, it felt only slightly more rugged. In any case, the suction power was similar- high. I'm gonna use the Cruise at work (where it will need longer running times and more frequent use) and keep the Dyson at home. Both are awesome and capable and have made keeping floors clean infinitely easier with less physical back strain. Incredible tools that save your time. Totally worth it. UPDATE: With a full charge and time, I cleaned a 1200 sf office with mixed tile and carpet. On one charge I cleaned all the carpets very well, including the front door carpet (very dirty) and all the baseboards, the entire commercial tiled surfaces (white), and spot cleaned hard to suck corners with the attachments. I emptied the canister 4 times (yes, I have been using an ineffective old upright and a broom). One charge cleaned everything! and it filled 4 canisters! Definitely lasts longer than the Dyson and suction is very, very close. The head is better on the Dyson, but I am using it very quickly and roughly so even if I run through 4 Cruises, I will still be ahead. Tip: don't use the stay on switch, the battery gets too hot and may require a cool down. Just constantly clean a section, let go and clean another section. After the vacuuming, I moped the tile floor and it has never been as clean (as when brooming it or just mopping it). I usually have to crawl on the floor to clean the baseboards or have to unplug/plug in the cord to clean one area at a time, but not with the cordless Hoover Cruise. It is fast, powerful, and light. Yes, I could've paid someone to vacuum and mop for about $250, but I did it all in about 40 minutes. The Cruise battery lasted almost 30 minutes! That is at least 10 minutes longer than the Dyson. And I can work it hard without worrying about damaging a high priced product. The Hoover Cruise is the all-round winner! (Plus, my back used to ache, but I only have a little hand pump, but switching hands is recommended) Every household needs this!
