If the manufacturer sold this yarn already wound, that would save much time and some aggravation untangling knots. Since I was knitting with double yarns, I kept each ball in its own small plastic bag to avoid tangles. Even so, several loops would come off a ball and instantly knot. However, the silk yarn is strong and never ripped, so be patient working out any knots--they gradually come out. The silk scarf washed and blocked beautifully, and the finished scarf has lots of ease and drape because of the stretchy nature of silk yarn and the open stitch pattern.
