**Q: How do you clean these?  Are there spots mold can build up?**
A: I put the whole thing in the dishwasher once a week or so, and we haven't had any issues with mold.  My daughter has used it daily for 9 months or so.

I'm sure mold could develop around the straw if you don't remove it periodically to clean.

**Q: If left open and tipped over, does the straw prevent (or minimize) spilling?**
A: Not really.  There's no valve, it's just a straw.

When you close the top there is a little plastic piece that you slide over which locks the top down.  The only issues we've had with spilling is when my kids forget to slide that lock over.

**Q: The lid had locked. How do I open it?**
A: Thank you for your inquiry. 
 From what I can see on the water bottle top, there is a small lever on the side that opens and locks the bottle top.

**Q: Do these bottles sweat? Looking for a plastic water bottle for elementary kids to have at their desk so it cannot sweat.**
A: Only the tiniest bit.  I have one kid keep it in her lunch box, and her lunch box comes home dry.  The other keeps it at her desk and says it's fine.  I like that it holds a lot, but isn't one of those giant bottles that won't fit in a backpack side pocket!

This cup is absolutely amazing. My son got the grey and green one. After buying 6 different brands. I finally found this one. It’s perfect for school because it’s clear and my son is very clumsy. He’s dropped it several times in the school line on concrete and in the classroom. Absolutely no damage. I love that we found a cool looking designed cup that didn’t break the bank financially. The 16 oz size cup is perfect for a 10 year old child. Our school requires a clear cup as far as color. The clear part has a grey tint to it but passed for school purposes.
